BHADERWAH,JUL 17 (KNO) : Like other parts of the state , the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in Bhaderwah and other parts of the Chenab valley . All the Mosques were fully decorated where thousands of devotees offered Nimaz and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the state.

The biggest congregation took place at Central Eid Gah ,Bhaderwah where thousands of people performed prayers and wished for peace, development and prosperity of the state as well as of the country.On the occasion Islamic flag hoisting was also held like previous year. After the solemn prayers, people joyfully greeted each other with hugs and "Eid mubarak" in Eid gahs , mosques, homes and public places.

Speaking on the occasion President Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah ,Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh said that such religious occasions play a vital role in further cementing the bonds of love and brotherhood among different sections of the society besides providing us an opportunity to introspect and improve our shortcomings for a better world to live in. Congratulating the people on this auspicious occasion, he appreciated the people of the Bhaderwah for maintaining brotherhood and communal harmony wich symbolizes their firm faith in state's composite culture.On the occasion, Muslim brothers exchanged wishes, sweets and gifts with people from all walks of life.The markets witnessed huge rush of people purchasing sweets, gifts, clothes.

Tight security arrangements were also made on all the prominent places of the Bhaderwah town for smooth and incident free celebration of Eid .Top brass of civil administration were also present on the occasion included ASP Bhaderwah Rajinder Singh , SDPO Bhaderwah Touseef Ahmed and SHO Muneer Khan .Similar peaceful Eid celebrations were witnessed in important Muslim pockets of Sartingal , Amira nagar , Chinta , Gatha , Bhalla , Seri , Charlla , Khara , Thatri ,Pranoo and other parts of Bhaderwah.

The festival marked the culmination of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan during which Muslims observe a stringent dawn-to-dusk fast in which even water is not permitted. After offering the Eid 'namaaz', it was time for the celebrations with family, friends, neighbors and community people, savouring and serving each other the festival special dish.However People including women and children, in colourful dresses were also seen marching towards Eidgahs, Jamia Masjid, shrines, mosques and open spaces to offer prayers in other places of Chenab valley included Doda , Kishtwar , Batote , Marmath , Kastigarh , Gath , thatri , Gundoh , Khara , Bonjwa , Assar and Chatroo .
